Back in March, SCD headed off to North Wales for its first driving tour of the year.
The 15 car tour began at APM Customs / Reep North West where brunch had been laid on for us all before our departure into Wales. The group then drove the Horseshoe pass, with a kind policeman in convoy with us! We then took the scenic route to Abersoch filling 2 hotels with SCD members!
The following day and the sun graced everyone with its presence as we headed to Portmeirion, famous for its appearance in the classic TV series – The Prisoner. After dinner at the Portmeirion hotel it was time for some beach fun! Rather than a bat and ball, Black Rock Sands allows you to drive onto the beach with your car. Typically within seconds members realised the fun to be had with a loose surface. That night was steak night at the local Bar and Grill, perfect for rounding off a brilliant day.
The last day the heavens opened but spirits were still up as we took to the fabulous Llanberis pass through Snowdonia. After this was a tunnel run up towards Llandudno for a lunch stop. Those who remained for the last element of the tour got very wet with a bit of very slippery karting!
