The Supercar Experience

SCD @ MH Charity_-13

The Supercar Experience returned in 2017, attracted over 10,000 visitors and raised over £20,000 for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice! Following the success of the 2016 Supercar Experience event the team at Supercar Driver, Meadowhall and Bluebell Wood were excited to repeat the event this year - but to expand on 2016 and make it bigger and better.

The Supercar Experience is the only public event from Supercar Driver and attracted more than 80 SCD members who came together in one place to share their pride and joy with everyone. For a donation of £1 our guests were treated to an array of exotic cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley and McLaren, to name just a few. Several drivers were happy to share their tales of ownership experience and allow people to sit in the cars and rev the engines for an additional donation. There was also a Formula 1 car on display that you could sit in and have photos taken and the cars (and truck!) of the Transformers also made an exciting visual part of our display!  The Sporting Bears team were on hand to provide passenger experience rides out on the road in a diverse range of exotic cars and contributed £5,127 to the final total.

The event was supported by John Holland Car Sales, JCT600, Sytner BMW, Leighton Vans, SMC Bikes, South Yorkshire Police and Peron Tuning who had displays and really added to the atmosphere.

“An amazing collaborative effort and the total raised exceeded our expectations, more than tripling the amount raised last year”. Julie Hampton, from Bluebell wood commented.

Adam Thorby, director of SCD added “This is just one of our events that we organise throughout the year with the aim to raise much needed funds for Bluebell Wood. We recently hit a huge milestone of £50,000 to date and are very proud to add an additional £22,357.37 to that total.  We are already working on ways to enhance the event even further next year”.

A big thank you to all the organisers, supporters, marshals, members and visitors for making this happen. We hope you all enjoyed the show and look forward to meeting you again in 2018!
