Over the last few years, one of the things I’ve enjoyed most on our tours is seeing the number of fathers and sons enjoying the experience together...
Perhaps what makes it so special is that the passion is often shared. Many sons inherit their love of cars from their fathers. They grow up surrounded by model cars, magazine subscriptions, motorsport weekends and stories about dream cars. Long before they can drive, they’re sitting in passenger seats, attending car shows and learning the difference between a Ferrari and a Lamborghini. I know I did.
Then one day, years later, they find themselves sitting alongside the very person who sparked that passion in the first place. That’s a special thing.
For many fathers, the years in between have been spent building careers, growing businesses and providing for their families. Life gets busy. Before you know it, the children who once sat in the back seat have grown up and those years seem to have passed in the blink of an eye.
Then comes a stage in life when there’s finally time to enjoy the rewards of all that hard work. And what better way to do it than together?
Whether it’s sharing a car for a week, spending hours talking as the miles roll by, or bringing a car each and swapping keys at every opportunity, there’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing it happen.

Perhaps what I love most is that the roles aren’t always the same. Sometimes it’s the father who spent years building a business and is now enjoying these experiences with his son. Other times it’s the son who has gone on to create success of his own and is now able to share these moments with his father.
The details don’t really matter. What matters is that they’re doing it together. Because if we’re honest, that’s the dream for most of us, isn’t it? To spend a few uninterrupted days with someone who means so much to you. No distractions. No rushing off. No daily routine getting in the way. Just great roads, great conversations and memories being created along the way.
People often say money can’t buy happiness. They’re probably right. But it can buy experiences. It can create opportunities. It can give us the chance to spend meaningful time with the people who matter most.
And whilst we’re fortunate to see so many fathers and sons enjoying these moments on our tours, we’re also aware that not everyone has that opportunity. Some have lost their father. Some never had that relationship. Others simply don’t get the chance to spend that kind of time together. Which is perhaps why it feels so special when we see it.
So this Father’s Day, it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate those memories. The drives, the conversations, the shared passion and the experiences that bring people together.

The cars are wonderful, of course. But they’re not really the point. They’re simply the excuse. The real value lies in the time spent together and the memories created along the way.
Because long after we’ve forgotten the roads we drove and the cars we arrived in, those are the moments that stay with us. And ultimately, isn’t that what it’s all about?
