When Ferrari Royalty Met the Top Gear Test Track
There are good days. There are great days. And then there are days when you find yourself standing in a sea of Ferrari F Cars, being deafened by V8s and V12s while sipping posh coffee in an old fire station. This was one of those days.
Corsa Cavallino: Dunsfold was a gathering like no other — our invitation-only event for the custodians of Ferrari’s most revered machines: the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and the limited-run Icona models. Oh, and a certain 250 SWB that slipped past the velvet rope, because when a 1960s legend knocks on the door, you let her in.
The day began at Kiklo Spaces, a place that’s so full of rare cars and motorsport history that your brain starts to melt. Walking through their collection feels like falling into a dream where every car you’ve ever lusted after is suddenly real — and polished to within an inch of its life. Our thanks to the Kiklo team, who opened their doors and gave us a morning that was as fascinating as it was humbling.
Then came the drive to Dunsfold Aerodrome, home of the Top Gear Test Track and, for the day, home to us. We were looked after by Ledmore, who’ve transformed the old Fire Station into a sleek new space for petrolheads. If Ferrari made architecture, it would probably look like this.
And then, the circuit. Owners took to the track in a convoy of carbon, revs echoing off the hangars. Around Hammerhead, through Follow Through, flat-out (ish) down the main straight — it was magic.
The cars? Where do you begin:
It wasn’t just a Ferrari event. It was a Ferrari moment, frozen in time, soaked in sunshine, and filled with the sound of history at full throttle. We were lucky to be there. Very lucky indeed.
