Global Telemetrics recovered £1.3m of stolen vehicles in June. Here's the rundown of what and where.
Glastonbury has come and gone, Black Sabbath are now retired, but Oasis are back and ‘some might say’ that thieves are enjoying their summer a little less thanks to Global Telemetrics recovering £1.3m of stolen vehicles during June, taking our all-time total to over £189m.
20% of all vehicles recovered this month were a Land Rover with models of Defender, Range Rover Sport, Velar and Vogue all recovered.
Other notable vehicles recovered include:
At the start of the month, our customer’s home was broken into overnight, and their Audi RS5 keys were stolen. Within minutes, they called our Secure Control Centre. Our Stolen Vehicle Recovery and Repatriations teams located and secured the vehicle just 7 minutes later – proving once again that investing in security pays off.
A common trend when a vehicle is stolen is for thieves to immediately change the number plate & quickly proceed with hiding the vehicle. Despite these efforts, our expertise & technology enables us to still locate these vehicles. During June, our Repatriations Team documented two cases where vehicles were found in such hiding spots.
London once again tops the list of locations, with 20% of all recoveries for the month being stolen from a Borough. Barnet, Redbridge & Westminster were particular hot spots. Second joint place are Essex & Nottinghamshire, with Nottinghamshire making its debut in the top 3 which is usually replaced by the West Midlands.
